Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Elects New Trustees

(Denver, CO – October 23, 2008) At its annual meeting, the Trustees of the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation elected two new members to its Board. They are Mark G. Falcone and Julanna V. Gilbert, Ph.D., both of Denver.

Mark Falcone founded Continuum Partners, LLC in Denver in 1997. Continuum Partners seeks to connect long-term value, high quality urban design and ecological sustainability in its developments throughout the greater Denver area. Since its inception, Continuum has successfully completed over $500 million in projects including 16 Market Square, Bradburn, Belmar, and Art House Townhomes.  Current projects include Belleview Station and Denver Union Station in partnership with East West Partners.  Falcone is a graduate of Colgate University and chairs the boards of The Laboratory of Art and Ideas at Belmar and the Museum of Contemporary Art-Denver. He is a past chair of The Nature Conservancy–Colorado Chapter. He is a member of the Colorado Forum, the Colgate University Board of Trustees, and the Advisory Board for the Mayor’s Institute on City Design at the National Endowment for the Arts.

Dr. Julanna Gilbert is Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at the University of Denver, where she is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The CTL collaborates with DU faculty to improve student learning and the educational experience through faculty development workshops that focus on effective teaching methods and uses of technology for teaching, and through its competitive grants programs to faculty for collaborative projects and initiatives. Dr. Gilbert’s research interests have involved kinetic and spectroscopic studies of energetic inorganic compounds using low temperature matrix isolation and gas phase methods. She earned a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Colorado and a B.S. in Chemistry from Metropolitan State College of Denver. She played the violin with the Arapahoe Philharmonic Orchestra for 16 years and currently plays with several chamber music groups.
