Central City Opera House

Central City Opera House Association presents a nationally acclaimed Summer Opera Festival, operates a model Artists Training Program, sponsors educational outreach programs, and maintains more than 30 historic properties. Central City Opera invested its Catalyst grant to create an infrastructure commensurate with the organization’s artistic excellence. This Catalyst partnership focused on supporting management, strengthening fund development, upgrading marketing materials, expanding audience, and producing the internationally acclaimed world premier of the Chinese opera Poet Li Bai.

Colorado Children’s Chorale

Colorado Children’s Chorale presents concerts by artistically excellent children’s ensembles and provides educational programs that entertain audiences, engage students, and enrich communities. The Chorale has performed in venues ranging from the White House to the Vatican. Through the Catalyst partnership, the Chorale is working to expand audience, build diversity, and use their growing national reputation to influence the field of children’s choral music. They also commissioned a new children’s opera, which premiered for a national audience as part of the 2008 National Performing Arts Convention.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado helps children reach their full potential through volunteer mentoring relationships with caring adults. Mentoring helps at-risk children make better grades, get along with parents and peers, and avoid drugs, alcohol and violence. This Catalyst partnership is helping to implement a five-year plan to triple the number of youth served, target underperforming schools, and partner with local businesses. Catalyst funds are invested in leadership development, program evaluation, community outreach, technology, corporate partnerships, and fund development.

Urban Peak

Urban Peak helps homeless, runaway and at-risk youth overcome homelessness and other life challenges to become self-reliant adults. Services include shelter, street outreach, medical clinics, food and clothing, education and job training, and housing. Following an organizational merger, Urban Peak has developed a continuum of services to support and empower vulnerable young people. They invested Catalyst resources to strengthen their board, create new marketing materials, upgrade technology, strengthen fund development and create a comprehensive program evaluation system.
