JoAnna Cintrón
JoAnna Cintrón is a proud Boricua, born in the Bronx and raised in Colorado. She is a seasoned nonprofit leader, fundraiser, and storyteller who brings a deep commitment to equity and cultural advocacy to every role she takes on. With more than a decade of experience spanning philanthropy, communications, community engagement, and program development, JoAnna is known for her ability to build trust-based relationships and drive meaningful impact.
JoAnna’s career began in film marketing and publicity, where she developed a keen understanding of the power of narrative to shape culture and inspire action. That early work fueled a lifelong passion for uplifting underrepresented voices—particularly through independent film and the arts. In 2015, she was selected as the Coors Light Líder of the Year for her work co-founding CineLatino—Denver’s only Latino film festival—through Denver Film.
JoAnna has held leadership roles in both grassroots and institutional settings, where she has overseen multimillion-dollar fundraising portfolios and led strategic communications initiatives that connect funders with the communities they aim to support. As Executive Director of Re:Vision, she guided the organization through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, helping provide millions of pounds of food to families in Southwest Denver and ensuring thousands of community members received vaccines. She also launched RISE Westwood, a cultural hub that supports Latino entrepreneurs in food and the arts—a testament to her commitment to place-based, culturally rooted solutions.
Currently, JoAnna serves as the Vice President of Development and Communications at the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado (LCFC), where she blends strategy and creativity to drive philanthropic investment into Latine communities. Her approach to fundraising is rooted in authenticity, curiosity, and cultural fluency. She is particularly skilled at building cross-sector partnerships and designing engagement strategies that reflect the values and priorities of the communities she serves.
Whether producing an annual report, developing a signature event, or launching a new giving program, JoAnna ensures that the work is grounded in equity and intentional storytelling. She is well-connected within Colorado’s philanthropic landscape and is often tapped to speak, consult, or collaborate on initiatives that aim to expand access and opportunity for historically excluded communities. She believes that investing in storytelling is essential to building a more just and vibrant world.
JoAnna earned her degree in Advertising and Ethnic Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder and is a Livingston Fellow and an alumna of the Latino Leadership Institute. In her personal life, she enjoys journaling, tarot, biking around Denver with her husband Adrian, walking their dog Charley, and sharing food and art with loved ones.
